Osborn Campaign Weekly Wrap-Up September 4

What We Did/Weekly Highlights

Dear Supporters,

Thank you to everyone who tuned in for my debate against Pete Ricketts. He talked a lot about this Democrat Dan guy… I don’t know if there was a third person who was supposed to show up, but I only saw two podiums.

Joking aside, the debate made it clear. Ricketts’ record is bad for Nebraskans, so he would rather spend his time talking about me. Instead of engaging with that, I talked about the issues and my plan to protect the Good Life. Nebraska is my home. It’s neighbors helping neighbors. And together, we can take back this senate seat for the hard working people of Nebraska.

Good luck this week to Nebraska football! We won’t be able to make it to the game, but we are hoping to do a bit of tailgating before kick off.. Go Big Red! Fun fact: Nebraska ended last season at 411 consecutive sell outs, which is still less than the 495 days Pete Ricketts has gone since holding a town hall.

Had to show some young supporters how to throw a spiral before game day.

Finally, next week is Labor Day. Labor day is a very special holiday for me, as we celebrate the history of America’s workers, and everything they have done to improve working conditions in this country.

We have about 8 weeks left, and my team and I are counting on you to help us finish strong down the stretch.

In the News

On Substack, you can check out our debate debrief, but also Tom Becka’s excellent breakdown.

If missed the debate KETV has a nice breakdown by round and the Omaha World Herald has a text transcript. But, to watch the whole debate start to finish, we recommend our hosts NCN’s broadcast.

If you haven’t had the chance to come to one of our town halls, the Lexington Clipper-Herald captured our trip to Johnson Lake.

CNN came to Nebraska to check out the race. Check out the interviews with Dan and a few of our supporters.

Social Media Highlights

On Instagram, we are featuring the World Herald’s word cloud of the debate. Ricketts liked to talk about “Democrats” and “Dan”, but Dan was more concerned about “People” and “Nebraska.”

If you tried to play the “Democrat Dan” drinking game… well, we hope your liver is doing ok.

On Facebook, we showed off our lunch in Ord as part of our 93-county tour.

Volunteer Asks

In 2024, Dan came unbelievably close to winning this seat. This year, Nebraska has once again attracted national attention as one of 2026’s most hotly contested races.

That’s why we need YOUR help to make sure that every voter in Nebraska has the chance to hear Dan’s message. We might not have the billionaire special interests on our side, but we have something more powerful: the hardworking people of the cornhusker state.

The most important action you can take is to reach out to your fellow Nebraskans by knocking doors. Even if you only have a few hours a week, every door counts. Click HERE to sign up for your first shift! This weekend, canvasses will be launched in:

  • Kearney

  • Lincoln

  • West Omaha

  • Omaha Campaign HQ

  • Richardson

  • Beatrice

  • Columbus

  • Fremont

  • Lyons

If you can’t canvas for us (again, the MOST important thing you can do to support the campaign), or if you want to double up on volunteer opportunities, Team Dan also offers phonebanks every evening – except for Friday – from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM (except for Cornhusker game days – then it will be from 4-6!). Put on your comfiest clothes, pour a cup of tea, and come hang out with us. Sign up HERE.

Finally, be sure to take a look at our upcoming events calendar. We are proud to represent working Nebraskans, and always excited to meet the people who make this state great.
